EMEA

The head of equity derivatives structuring at Barclays in London, Hassan Houari, has left the firm and is set to join Deutsche Bank in London. Houari joined Barclays Capital in 2000 from BNP Paribas.

Areski Iberrakene, formerly the global head of equity derivatives at Dresdner Kleinwort in London, has set up a hedge fund called Areski Capital. Prior to Dresdner, Iberrakene was the global head of FX derivatives at Barclays Capital and before that, the global head of FX exotics book at Commerzbank.

The head of credit sales for Europe at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Emmanuel Delattre, left the firm this week. Delattre joined RBS in November 2009 from Merrill Lynch where he was the head of FICC France, BeNeLux and Nordics.

Georges Assi resigned from Nomura in London this week to take a career break. Assi was the deputy global head of fixed income at the firm which he joined from Lehman Brothers in September 2008.

Jérémie Tobelem has joined Nomura as the head of emerging market FX options EMEA based in London. Tobelem joins from Credit Suisse where he was involved in both structuring and trading across the major EEMEA markets. Prior to CS, he was an EM FX options trader at Deutsche Bank. In his new role at Nomura, he will report to Nigel Khakoo.

Harald Gegenwart has left Morgan Stanley where he was the head of German equity trading. According to reports, he was amongst those let go as part of the cuts made by MS this week due to the slowdown in Europe.

Asia-Pacific

Stuart Oakley, who left the Royal Bank of Scotland in Singapore in January where he was the head of emerging markets FX trading, is set to join Nomura.

David Curtis, the former head of FX for Asia Pacific at Credit Suisse, is preparing to launch his own hedge fund this October called Northbridge Park Asset Management in Sydney to trade G10 and Asian Currencies.

Americas

Will Brett is to join Credit Suisse in October as the head of Americas corporate equity derivatives. Brett was formerly the head of structured derivatives sales at Nomura. In his new role at CS he will report to Steve Winnert, head of Americas equity linked origination.

In order to comply with the upcoming Dodd-Frank regulatory reform, JP Morgan has consolidated some of its business units – client asset management and sourcing in addition to brokering customer trade in the derivatives and securities markets. Heading the newly consolidated units will be Emily Portney, the head of global futures and options at the bank.
